BRISTOL, Tenn. - King College placed four players on the 2010 NCCAA Mid-East All-Region team, the organization announced.
Kitts made the team as one of the two goal keepers. She ended the year with a 2.38 goals against average with 136 saves in 21 matches. The Lady Tornado junior goalkeeper had 48 saves and posted four shutouts and the four came in the final nine matches of the season including two in the Mid-East Region Tournament.
Shankle finished the season with a team-high 10 goals and two assists. She had two scores at the NCCAA National Tournament and three game-winning goals. Twice this season the junior forward had multi-goal efforts.
Shelton, a junior forward, compiled nine goals with an assist in 2010. She provide two game-winning goals including one in King's win over Covenant (Ga.) College in the Mid-East Region semifinals.
Lynskey, a senior defender, totaled five goals in 2010 with a game winner coming against nearby Milligan (Tenn.) College. She had two scores in King's victory over Covenant.
The Lady Tornado and Campbellsville (Ky.) University had four players each. Covenant had three selections with two from Tennessee Temple University and the team was rounded out by a player from Asbury (Ky.) University.
King ended the season sixth with an 8-14 record and the Lady Tornado won the NCCAA Mid-East region championship to qualify for nationals.
