King cruises past Emmanuel 33-13

FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. – The King University men's wrestling team earned the second Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) victory on Tuesday night when they defeated Emmanuel College. Reed Jacks got the Tornado off to a hot start with a pin as King took the dual 33-13.

  • Jacks pinned Alberto Perez in 1:39 at 125 pounds, getting the Tornado the lead.
  • Emmanuel took a victory before King rolled off three straight wins, starting with a technical fall from Bryce Killian at 141 pounds.
  • He defeated Dalton Flint 16-1 before Landon Goforth took a win by forfeit.
  • At 157 pounds, Matthew Danner pushed the Tornado advantage to 20-3 with a 5-3 decision over Jay Sheppard, scoring a takedown in the first overtime period.
  • The trio of Darius Rutland, Kody Eichlin and Eljah Seay clinched the Tornado victory with three straight wins.
  • Rutland topped Melvin Nimely 4-2 at 174 pounds and Eichlin followed with a 19-4 technical fall victory over Seth Bell at 184 pounds.
  • Seay capped the 33-15 triumph with a 17-1 technical fall over Richard Walker at 197 pounds.
