BRISTOL, Tenn. – Following his great start to the season, King University men's wrestler Landon Goforth has earned recognition from the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC). Goforth has been named the first ECAC Men's Wrestling of the Month for the 2017-18 season.
Goforth is 9-2 on the young season, with both of his defeats coming to NCAA Division I opponents at the season-opening Southeast Open. Since the opening tournament, he has won eight straight matches, resulting in first place finishes at the King Open and the Georgia Open.
The Hixson, Tenn., native has taken two wins by pin, another by technical fall and won the Georgia Open with a major decision over Sammy Peticos of UNC Pembroke. He helped key a 23-22 come-from-behind win for the Tornado over Belmont Abbey with a 6-2 decision over Matthew Sloan.
Goforth at the Tornado are back in action again on December 17-18 at the Midwest Classic in Indianapolis, Ind.
