BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University men's and women's wrestling team is currently working on a fundraiser to enhance and make necessary improvements to the wrestling practice facilities. The programs have set a goal to raise $30,000 to fund the upgrades and enhancements, which will include new practice mats and wall padding.
The men's program has had 37 national qualifiers and eight All-Americans since the inception of the program in 2005, highlighted by the two All-Americans a season ago. On the women's side, the Tornado went 1-9 in their first season of 2009-10, but King has placed in the top three at the national championships each of the last seven years, including four consecutive WCWA and NWCA National Championships.
The rally has currently raised more than $800 in the early days. Although the campaign runs through May 21, if we raise $15,000 by this Sunday evening at 6:30 p.m. (midpoint of the campaign), then next week we will live stream the coaches getting pies in the face. Please help us meet the goal so that we can have some fun!
