BRISTOL, Tenn. – Three members of the King University men's wrestling team were recognized on the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC), earning all-academic honors. The trio including Bryce Killian, Joey Mammolenti and Bryan Flores-Garcia.
Killian carries a 3.27 GPA and earned All-American honors this season. He went 8-4 on the season, including 3-0 on major decisions and 2-0 on technical falls. He qualified for the NCAA Wrestling Championships for the second straight year, where he finished fifth to earn All-American accolades.
Mammolenti carries a GPA of 3.18 and went 20-13 on the season. He was 4-1 on technical falls and 1-1 on major decisions. He finished sixth at the Southeast Open, second at the Kaufman/Brand Open and won the King Open, all in November. He later finished eighth at the highly competitive Midwest Classic.
Flores-Garcia has a GPA of 3.48 and only competed in select events for the Tornado. He competed at the season-opening Southeast Open before being called back into action during the dual season in February.
To be selected to ECAC All-Academic, student-athletes must have completed a full academic year at their current institution and carry a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0.
