Tornado Wrestling No. 6 in NCAA DII Super Region II team rankings

BRISTOL, Tenn. - King College moved up a spot in the newest NCAA Division II Super Region II team rankings with five individuals ranked in their respective weight classes, as announced by the region chair.

King was a spot better at No. 6 after being No. 7 in early December. The Tornado was No. 6 in the preseason ranking announced in November.

Limestone (S.C.) College was bumped down to No. 7.

Only three of the 13 teams remained in place from the previous rankings. Nebraska Omaha was No. 1 again. Central Oklahoma University and the University of Findlay (Ohio) flip-flopped with Central Oklahoma now No. 2. Ashland (Ohio) University and Belmont Abbey (N.C.) College were fourth and fifth, respectively, once again.

Lake Erie moved from No. 11 to No. 8, moving Central Missouri and Truman State down a spot each to No. 9 and No. 10.

Individually Frank Morgan (Maynardville, Tenn.) had the best ranking among the five King wrestlers at No. 2 in the 197-pound weight class. He was No. 3 in the previous region ranking.

Brandon Tressler (Orlando, Fla.) and Patrick Spano (Tampa, Fla.) were both fifth, Tressler in the 184-pound ranking with Spano in the 165-pound class. Spano was not in the Top-6 while Tressler was third in the last report.

Cullen King (Memphis, Tenn.) and Dondricus Anderson (Macon, Ga.) both were sixth, King among 125-pound grapplers and Anderson in the 285-pound rankings.

The Tornado squad will be a part of the Virginia Duals Friday and Saturday.
