Tornado in 9th after Patsy Rendleman Invite first round

SALISBURY, N.C. – The King University women's golf team returned to action on Monday at the Patsy Rendleman Invitational where they posted a score of 325 and are in ninth place after the first round. Samantha Taylor led the way for the Tornado as she is in 14th place with one round remaining.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Taylor carded a 78 in the first round, finishing in a tie for 14th to lead King.
  • Nicola Robertson was next, shooting 80 in the opening round.
  • The next two Tornado were Daphne Chang who shot 83 and Fiona Hebbel who carded an 84 on Monday.
  • Autumn Bergendahl rounded out the squad with a 96 in the first round.

FOR THE FOES

  • Tusculum College leads the tournament after the first round with a score of 305 while Wingate University is in second at 306.
  • Individually, Cristina Cassanella of Wingate leads the way with a first round score of one-under 71. Ciara Rattana of Tusculum is second, shooting 72.

  • The tournament concludes on Tuesday with the second round at the Country Club of Salisbury.
