King in second after first round of Etowah Intercollegiate

HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. – The King University women's golf team opened the season with a round of 322 at the Etowah Intercollegiate on Monday. The Tornado are in second place and were led by Fiona Hebbel and Daphne Chang who are both in the top 10 with one round remaining.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • In her first collegiate round, Hebbel carded a 77 and is in third place after the first round. She is only one stroke out of first place.
  • Chang shot 79 in the first round and is in sixth with one round remaining.
  • Both Nicola Robertson and Emilie Olstad are in 11th after the each shot 83 in the first round.
  • Samantha Taylor rounded out the team, shooting 86 in the opening round.

FOR THE FOES

  • Tusculum College is leading the tournament with a team score of 311 while the Tornado are in second at 322.
  • Belmont Abbey College is in third, shooting 323.
  • Ciara Rattana and Katie Tomassoni are atop the individual leaderboard, both shooting 76 in the first round.
