GREENEVIILE, Tenn. – The King University women's golf team finally got to take the course at Link Hills Country Club on Tuesday after the first round of the Agnes McAmis Memorial was rained out on Monday. The Tornado shot 322 in the only round of the tournament to take fifth of 14 teams, and were led by Elizabeth Swallow who finished ninth.
Swallow shot 39 on the front nine, and bettered that score with a 38 on the back nine to finish with a stroke total of 77, landing her in ninth place. The sophomore has finished in the top-10 of every tournament this season.
Anna Walker and Cortnee Young weren't far behind Swallow as Walker carded a 79 to take 17th, and Young shot 80 to place her 23rd. Kerby Jones finished next for the Tornado with a stroke total of 86, and Karissa King rounded out the group with an 89.
The Tornado shot 322 in the one round tournament to take fifth place. Lee University won the tournament with a total of 303 while Carson-Newman University wasn't far behind with 304 strokes.
King will be in action again on April 13-15 at the Conference Carolinas Championship in Greensboro, N.C.
