COLUMBUS, Ga. – The King University women's golf team opened their spring schedule on Monday at the TSYS Collegiate Classic. After two rounds of the three-round tournament the Tornado are in seventh place with a score of 688. Elizabeth Swallow is in fifth after carding a 156 through two rounds.
Swallow posted an 80 in round one, but rebounded to card a 76 in the second round. Anna Walker followed Swallow as she improved on her first round score of 87 with an 85 in the second round for a total of 172. Cortnee Young wasn't far behind, finishing two rounds with a 177. She shot 82 in the first round, and followed with a 95.
Kerby Jones shot a pair of 93's for a total of 186 while Karissa King rounded out the Tornado squad with a two-round total of 189. King carded a 90 in round one, and followed it with a 99 in round two.
Lander University leads the tournament with a two-round total of 627 while the University of Montevallo and Lee University are tied for second at 630. Lee's Courtney Shelton sits atop the individual leaderboard after shooting 149 in the first two rounds.
The tournament concludes on Tuesday with the third a final round at the Country Club of Columbus.
