Swallow leads King in Patsy Rendleman first round

SALISBURY, N.C. – After a week off, the King University women's golf team returned to the course on Monday at the Patsy Rendleman Invitational. The Tornado carded a 338 and are in 15th place after the first round. Elizabeth Swallow is currently in eighth place with one round remaining.

Swallow followed her front nine 38 with a 39 on the back nine for a total of 77. The sophomore is currently in eighth place, five shots off the lead. Cortnee Young followed Swallow with a score of 82 (40-42) in round one.

Anna Walker carded an 85 while Kerby Jones shots 94. Karissa King rounded out the King squad with a score of 96.

Wingate University is the tournament's leader after their first round of 311. Newberry College is second at 314 while Erskine College and UNC Pembroke are tied for third at 317. King is in 15th after shooting 338 in the first round.

The tournament will conclude tomorrow at the Country Club of Salisbury in Salisbury, N.C. The shotgun tee off is scheduled for 9:15 a.m.
