Tornado place fourth, qualify for match play at CC Championships

GRAHAM, N.C. – Following the first round of the Conference Carolinas Championships, the King University women's golf team was in second place. The Tornado shot 339 in the second round, and finished in fourth place at 674 to qualify for match play on Monday.

The Tornado were led by Elizabeth Swallow who carded an 80 and is in third place with a total of 159 after two rounds. Esther Gandarias and Cortnee Young followed with second round scores of 85 and 86, respectively. Gandarias is in 15th place with a total of 169 while Young sits in 20th at 170.

Anna Walker posted an 88 in round two, and has total of 178 after two rounds while Kerby Jones rounded out the squad with a 94. Jones has a two-day total of 182.

King's 674 place them in fourth behind Mount Olive College, North Greenville University and Queens University. Mount Olive finished first at 656 while North Greenville placed second at 665 and Queens placed third at 671. The conference champion will be determined by match play between the four schools on Monday at The Challenge Golf Club.
