GREENVILLE, Tenn. – Anna Walker improved by three strokes to finish inside the top-30 while the Lady Tornado ended their stay at Links Hill Country Club with a 13th place finish at the Agnes McAmis Memorial Golf Invitational. The field of 18 teams concluded play on the 5,832-yard, par 72 course.
Freshman Anna Walker finished first of the five-person King squad with a two-day total of 80-77-157. The Marion, Va., native topped her day one score by three strokes and was one of only three golfers to register an eagle during the tournament. She finished tied for 29th overall with a 13-over par.
King advanced one spot in the team standings after hopping the University of West Georgia (331-337-668) with their second-day score. As a team, the Lady Tornado (334-330-664) improved their score by four strokes from their first day scorecard.
Four of King's five golfers matched or bettered their scores from Monday's opening round. Also improving from Monday's first round was Kerby Jones who bettered her score by two stokes for a two-round total of 176.
The Lady Tornado will now prepare for the Conference Carolinas Championship held in Pinehurst N.C. on April 22-24. The Championship will be hosted by Belmont Abbey College at the Woodlake Resort located in Vass, N.C.
