Lady Tornado Wrap Up Ralph Hargett Memorial

 

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – King College Women's Golf finished their stay at the Olde Sycamore Golf Club (Charlotte, N.C.) with the conclusion of the J. Ralph Hargett Memorial, on Tuesday. Cortnee Young and Anna Walker each held the team's top scores to help King jump into 16th place in the tournament.

Led by Cortnee Young and Anna Walker, the Lady Tornado jumped Belmont Abbey for 16th place overall in the tournament with a two-day team score of 714 (351-363) to close out the tournament. King trailed the Crusaders by six strokes entering second day action but shot 16 shots better on the final 18 holes to pass them up by 10 strokes.

Young and Walker both finished with scores of 88 in the second round. Young, a native of Cleveland, Tenn., finished tied for 35th overall with a two-day score of 166 (78-88). Walker, a freshman from Marion, Va., finished with a pair of 88 scores for a tournament total of 176.

King will participate in the 13th annual Agnes McAmis Memorial Golf Invitational in Greenville, Tenn. at Link Hills Country Club on April 2-3 in their next competition. The opening round starts Monday morning at 11 a.m. on the 5,832-yard, par 72 layout. Admission to the two-day, 36-hole tournament is free and open to the public.
