King paces Lady Tornado golfers to second at Milligan

ELIZABETHTON, Tenn. - King College's Karissa King led the Lady Tornado golf team to a runner up finish at the Milligan College/Appalachian Athletic Conference Preview Thursday thanks to her second-place performance.

King (Rockwood, Tenn.) finished a shot behind Milligan's Kayla Kmetz for medalist honors. The 89 was her low round of the season, four shots better than the 93 at the Montreat (N.C.) Fall Invitational in October.

The Lady Tornado posted a team score of 389, six shots behind host Milligan. St. Catharine (Ky.) College finished with a 431.

Malorie McBride (Brentwood, Tenn.) finished fourth with her 94 with teammate Kirby Jones (Franklin, Tenn.) next with a 99. Chelsea Gammon (Blountville, Tenn.) carded a round of 107.

Next for the Lady Tornado squad will be the Pinehurst Challenge in Pinehurst, N.C., March 21-22.
