BREVARD, N.C. - King College was unable to move in the final round of the Montreat College Fall Invitational Tuesday which kept the Lady Tornado in fourth in the final event of the fall season for the squad.
Manda Minor (Bluff City, Tenn.) followed her opening round 86 with an 87 Tuesday. Alexa Payne (Dandridge, Tenn.) improved eight shots from the first round to the final round thanks to an 87. Malorie McBride (Brentwood, Tenn.) provided a 91 while Karissa King (Rockwood, Tenn.) carded a 93.
King was 23 shots better as a team in Tuesday's 18 holes with a season-best score of 358. The team score was five shots better than the previous season low coming on Sept. 27. The Lady Tornado was six shots behind Union (Ky.) College. Carson-Newman (Tenn.) College won the team crown with a 624 over the two rounds. Spartanburg Methodist (S.C.) College finished second with a 704. Mars Hill (N.C.) College and Brevard (N.C.) College remained fifth and sixth.
