Lady Tornado Golf slate for Spring announced

BRISTOL, Tenn. - King College's spring 2011 women's golf schedule has been announced by head coach Brian Kamm and the Lady Tornado will start on Feb. 21.

First for the team will be the St. Andrews Spring Invitational in Pinehurst, N.C. The Tornado squad will also be at the event. King then goes to the Milligan/Appalachian Athletic Conference Preview event on March 17 at nearby Elizabethton Golf Course. Shortly after that, on March 21-22, King will play at the Pinehurst Challenge, again in Pinehurst, N.C. The regular season comes to a close with the Agnes McAmis Memorial on April 4-5 in Greeneville, Tenn. The Lady Tornado will try to qualify for the NCAA Division II Southeast Region event to be contested on May 1-3.

During the fall portion of the schedule King played in three events with the best team finish coming at the Montreat Fall Invitational, the team's last tournament. The Lady Tornado posted a fourth-place finish and Manda Minor (Bluff City, Tenn.) had the highest individual finish for a King golfer of the fall, a tie for 13th.
