CHARLOTTE, N.C. – In conjunction with the Conference Carolinas Tournament powered by OrthoCarolina, the league announced its all-conference teams on Tuesday night at an awards ceremony at the NASCAR Hall of Fame. King University's Bonnie Durrett was named to the all-conference second team.
Durrett has been a mainstay in the Tornado lineup and has been among the team's most important contributors. Her 10.8 points and 9.8 rebounds per contest are both team highs, and she is the second-ranked rebounder in Conference Carolinas. She has led the team in rebounding 18 times this season, including in each of King's first 11 contests, and nine times has been its most productive scorer. Among her eight double-doubles on the season are 14 double-digit scoring efforts, and she has reached the 10-rebound plateau on 12 occasions.
On the season, Durrett has made 35.3 percent of her shots, including 29 three-point baskets. She also averages 1.2 assists and 0.8 blocks per contest.
Durrett will be back in action with the Tornado on Wednesday afternoon as the fourth-seeded Tornado take on No. 1 Limestone in the semifinals of the Conference Carolinas Tournament powered by OrthoCarolina. Tipoff is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. A Tornado win would set up a matchup with the winner of No. 7 Barton and No. 3 Mount Olive at 5:00 p.m. Thursday in the tournament championship game.
