Lady Tornado posts 10 Top-10 rankings within NCCAA Mid-East stat report

BRISTOL, Tenn. - King College collected 10 individual Top-10 NCCAA Division I Mid-East Region Women's Basketball stat rankings, the organization announced. Of the rankings, three are atop the categories.

Derika Mooney (Athens, Tenn.)  led the region with a 4.1 assists per game mark and added the No. 1 spot in steals per game, 2.5. She also ranked No. 9 in rebounds per game with a 5.9 average and used a 29.2 3-point field goal percentage to land at No. 10.

Ashley Deans (Greeneville, Tenn.) and her 87.7 free throw percentage was tops in the region. Deans also was third in points per game with her team-best 15.4 average. She also ranked seventh in rebounds with 6.3 per contest.

Brooke Johnson (Roan Mountain, Tenn.) was seventh in the free throw percentage with a 79.5 mark. She was ninth in 3-point percentage thanks to the 29.4 percentage.

Jessica Tharpe (Sevierville, Tenn.) led the team in 3-point percentage with the No. 8 mark in the region at 31.5.

The Lady Tornado, with a 2-12 record, starts 2011 with a 6 p.m. contest on Jan. 3 with Brevard (N.C.) College in Bristol.
