GREENVILLE, S.C. - King College was No. 29 in the first NCCAA Division I Women's Basketball Burbridge Report, the national office announced.
The Lady Tornado posted a rating of 5.900 and at the time of the report King owned a 2-8 record. So far this week King lost at Tusculum (Tenn.) College Wednesday before a home game Saturday with Carson-Newman (Tenn.) College.
Indiana Wesleyan University was atop the rating thanks to a Burbridge of 8.778. The Master's College (Calif.) was next. Hope International (Calif.) University and Bluefield (Va.) College was third and fourth, respectively. Southwestern Assemblies of God (Texas) University rounded out the Top-5.
Within the Mid-East region, Bluefield led the pack with Asbury (Ky.) University next at No. 19 nationally. Tennessee Temple University landed at No. 26 with King at No. 29. Oakland City (Ind.) University, Covenant (Ga.) College and Mid-Continent (Ky.) University were also in the Top-40.
The rating is based on wins and losses, opponents' winning percentage, location of game and opponents' national affiliation.
A new rating will be announced next week.
