Both Ryan Whitt and Dylan Sligh of the King baseball team earned recognition as well as Hannah Devotie of the Tornado softball team.
Mount Olive ends King's season with 6-3 victoryBURLINGTON, N.C. – With each team playing their third game of the day, third seed University of Mount Olive outlasted seventh seed King University to stay alive in the Conference Carolinas Softball Tournament. The Trojans scored four runs in the first two innings and held on for the 6-3 victory.
First inning runs gives King win over BACBURLINGTON, N.C. – In another elimination game in the Conference Carolinas Softball Tournament, seventh seed King University scored early and Hayley Smothers made the run standup for the Tornado against sixth seed Belmont Abbey College. King scored twice in the first inning, and Smothers shutdown the Crusaders, giving King the 2-1 victory.
Tornado hold off late NGU rally to stay alive in CC TournamentBURLINGTON, N.C. – Playing their second games of the Conference Carolinas Softball Tournament, seventh seed King University and fifth seed North Greenville University left everything on the field on Friday afternoon in an elimination game. The Tornado held a 4-1 lead only to see the Crusaders even the score in the sixth. However, King regained the lead in the seventh and then turned a double play with runners on second and third to end the game and give the Tornado the 6-5 victory.

The Falcons scored six runs in the third inning and used a stellar pitching performance to take the game 6-0.
Crusaders take pair from King in regular season finaleTIGERVILLE, S.C. – The King University softball team closed the regular season with a pair of tough Conference Carolinas losses at North Greenville University. After King evened the score at six in the top of the seventh inning in game one, the Crusaders scored in the bottom of the frame to take the contest 7-6. King again tried to comeback in the nightcap, but the Crusaders held on for the 4-3 win to jump the Tornado in the league standings.

Pair of complete games gives King sweep at Lees-McRaeBANNER ELK, N.C. – Following a day where the King University softball team split a road doubleheader, the Tornado bounced back with a Conference Carolinas sweep on Wednesday afternoon. King got a pair of complete game performances in the circle from Hayley Smothers and Lauren Smith to defeat Lees-McRae College 5-2 and 3-1.
Tornado offense explodes to split at W.Va. TechSMITHERS, W.Va. – The King University softball team traveled to take on West Virginia Tech in a nonconference matchup on Tuesday afternoon. The Golden Bears came back to take game one 5-4 behind runs in the seventh and eighth innings. The Tornado ended the day 1-for-1 as the fell in game one 5-4 and took game two 3-0. King was unable to top the Crusaders with a chance to take the lead in the sixth inning in game one but Hayley Smothers was able to shutout the Crusaders in game two.
