    Top of order leads King to sweep of BAC BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University softball team returned to Conference Carolinas play with a pair of resounding victories over Belmont Abbey College on Saturday. The Tornado scored in nearly every inning in game one, taking the contest 13-6. King then got a stellar pitching performance from Hayley Smothers to take game two 9-2.

    Tornado drop a pair to Lee BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University dropped a pair of contests to Lee University on Wednesday afternoon. The Flames took a tight game one 3-0 before capitalizing in King miscues to take game two 9-1.

    Hughes leads King to sweep of Emmanuel Franklin Springs, Ga. – Following a split on Friday, the King University softball team rode the hot hand of Emma Hughes to a Conference Carolinas sweep at Emmanuel College on Saturday. Hughes tossed a pair of complete games as King took game one 3-1 before winning the nightcap 6-0.

    Tornado split conference-opener at Erskine DUE WEST, S.C. – The King University softball team opened up Conference Carolinas play on Friday afternoon at Erskine College. The Tornado came back and took game one 5-2 behind four runs in the seventh inning before Erskine took game two 9-4 after scoring six runs in the opening frame.

    Tornado make history vs. #7 Lenoir-Rhyne HICKORY, N.C. – The King University softball team faced off against number seven ranked Lenoir-Rhyne University on Tuesday afternoon. The Tornado scored two runs late in game one but fell 5-4 to the Bears and took game two by scoring late runs again to win 4-3.

    Doubleheader at Converse rescheduled BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University softball team's Conference Carolinas opener at Converse College that was scheduled for Sunday has been rescheduled. The doubleheader has been rescheduled for April 21 at 2:00 p.m.

    Mars Hill comes back to take split from Tornado BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University softball team pushed their winning streak to seven games, taking the opening contest over Mars Hill University 10-2. However, the Lions came back to take game two 3-1 in eight innings.

    Tornado sweep Concord, Testa earns 200th career win BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University softball team continued their hot streak of late, winning their sixth straight contest and earning head coach Jenn Testa her 200th career win on Wednesday. The Tornado swept a doubleheader from Concord 9-5 in game one and 3-1 in game two.

    Riddle selected Conference Carolinas Player of the Week BRISTOL, Tenn. – Following a breakout week, King University softball player Hannah Riddle was named Conference Carolinas Player of the Week. The junior led King to a 4-0 week, hitting .765 with nine runs batted in.

    King sweeps Mars Hill MARS HILL, N.C. – The King University softball team broke the .500 mark with wins over Mars Hill University on Saturday afternoon. The Tornado struck early in game one with all of their eight runs coming in innings two through four to grab game one 8-4. In game two a persistent offense scored 10 runs to take game two 10-0 as well.

    Offense leads Tornado to sweep of WVU Tech BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University softball team pushed their record back to .500 with a sweep of West Virginia Tech on Thursday afternoon, including a program record 25 runs in the nightcap. The Tornado took game one 9-4 before exploding to take game two 25-0 behind a Hannah Riddle’s excellent offensive performance.

    Hughes' three complete game leads to Conference Carolinas Weekly Award BRISTOL, Tenn. – Freshman pitcher Emma Hughes helped lead the King University softball team to a 4-2 week last week, including an upset of the 11th-ranked team in the country, earning Hughes some hardware. Hughes was selected Conference Carolinas Pitcher of the Week following three complete games over the week.

    Tornado fall to Lander in Coker Tournament finale HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The King University softball team finished the Coker Tournament with a tough loss to Lander University. The Bearcats took a 4-0 lead, and the Tornado came back to get within one, but couldn’t get even as Lander took the contest 4-3.

    Tornado take pair at Coker Tournament Hartsville, S.C. – Following a win over the 11th-ranked team in the country on Friday night, the King University softball team turned in two more wins on Saturday at the Coker Tournament. The Tornado started the day with a 9-0 win over West Virginia Tech before defeating Bloomsburg University 3-2 in the nightcap.

Behind a solid outing from Emma Hughes in the circle, the Tornado defeated 11th-ranked University of Charleston 1-0 in the opening day of the Coker Tournament.

    King sweeps UVa-Wise BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University softball team played UVa-Wise in a doubleheader on Friday afternoon. The Tornado rallied in the fifth and sixth innings to take the contest 6-3 in game one, and won the second game 4-3, all runs coming in the third inning.

    King softball schedule altered due to weather BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University softball team has altered their schedule for the week due to upcoming weather. Wednesday’s doubleheader at Queens University (N.C.) has been moved up to Tuesday, and Thursday’s doubleheader at home against UVa-Wise has been moved to Friday. Tuesday’s games will start at 2:00 p.m. and first pitch on Friday is slayed for 1:00 p.m.

    King falls in season opener to Bellarmine BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University softball team opened up their season against Bellarmine University on Saturday afternoon. Michaela Morris led the way for the Tornado going 3-5 on the day with five RBI’s. King fell 11-4 in the first game, and narrowly lost 7-4 in the second.

    Devotie selected CoSIDA Academic All-American BRISTOL, Tenn. – For the first time this year, a King University student-athlete has garnered CoSIDA Academic All-American honors. Tornado softball player Hannah Devotie was selected third team All-America by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), when the awards were announced on Wednesday.

    Three Tornado selected CoSIDA Academic All-District BRISTOL, Tenn. – On Thursday the College Sports Information Directors of American (CoSIDA) announced their Academic All-District honorees for baseball and softball and three Tornado were selected. Both Ryan Whitt and Dylan Sligh of the King baseball team earned recognition as well as Hannah Devotie of the Tornado softball team.

    Mount Olive ends King's season with 6-3 victory BURLINGTON, N.C. – With each team playing their third game of the day, third seed University of Mount Olive outlasted seventh seed King University to stay alive in the Conference Carolinas Softball Tournament. The Trojans scored four runs in the first two innings and held on for the 6-3 victory.

    First inning runs gives King win over BAC BURLINGTON, N.C. – In another elimination game in the Conference Carolinas Softball Tournament, seventh seed King University scored early and Hayley Smothers made the run standup for the Tornado against sixth seed Belmont Abbey College. King scored twice in the first inning, and Smothers shutdown the Crusaders, giving King the 2-1 victory.

    Tornado hold off late NGU rally to stay alive in CC Tournament BURLINGTON, N.C. – Playing their second games of the Conference Carolinas Softball Tournament, seventh seed King University and fifth seed North Greenville University left everything on the field on Friday afternoon in an elimination game. The Tornado held a 4-1 lead only to see the Crusaders even the score in the sixth. However, King regained the lead in the seventh and then turned a double play with runners on second and third to end the game and give the Tornado the 6-5 victory.

    Four Tornado selected All-Conference Carolinas BRISTOL, Tenn. – The Conference Carolinas Softball Tournament started on Thursday morning and following the completion of the first six games, the league held a banquet to announced their All-Conference Carolinas award winners. Seniors Hannah Smith and Amber Walker led the way for the Tornado with their first team selections while Hannah Devotie and Alliyah Sands garnered second team recognition.

    Big third inning lifts Pfeiffer over King BURLINGTON, N.C. – The second seed in the Conference Carolinas Tournament, Pfeiffer University used one big inning to defeat seventh seed King University to open their weekend. The Falcons scored six runs in the third inning and used a stellar pitching performance to take the game 6-0.

    Crusaders take pair from King in regular season finale TIGERVILLE, S.C. – The King University softball team closed the regular season with a pair of tough Conference Carolinas losses at North Greenville University. After King evened the score at six in the top of the seventh inning in game one, the Crusaders scored in the bottom of the frame to take the contest 7-6. King again tried to comeback in the nightcap, but the Crusaders held on for the 4-3 win to jump the Tornado in the league standings.

The doubleheader that was scheduled for the Tornado on Wednesday at Concord University has also been canceled. Neither twinbill will be rescheduled.

The Tornado held off the Warriors to take game one 7-4, but Southern Wesleyan scored four late runs to overtake the Tornado 6-3 in the nightcap.

    Pair of complete games gives King sweep at Lees-McRae BANNER ELK, N.C. – Following a day where the King University softball team split a road doubleheader, the Tornado bounced back with a Conference Carolinas sweep on Wednesday afternoon. King got a pair of complete game performances in the circle from Hayley Smothers and Lauren Smith to defeat Lees-McRae College 5-2 and 3-1.
