    BRISTOL, Tenn. – At the conclusion of the spring season, Conference Carolinas announced their Messick Sportsmanship Awards, and two King University teams were recognized. The King women’s tennis team and the Tornado softball team both earned Messick Sportsmanship Awards.

    BRISTOL, Tenn. – For the second time in program history, the King University softball team has had two players selected All-Southeast Region by the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA). Hannah Riddle becomes the first Tornado to earn first team honors and Jenna Burnett garnered second team recognition.

    DAHLONEGA, Ga. – In a rematch from the opening game of the NCAA Southeast Regional, the King University softball team took on top seed and top-ranked University of North Georgia. The Nighthawks jumped on the eighth seeded Tornado early and used a solid pitching performance, taking the 9-1 win and ending King’s season.
  • Pitching lifts King past Coker and into NCAA Regional final

    DAHLONEGA, Ga. – Coming off of an extra innings win, the eighth seeded King University softball team kept rolling on Friday at the NCAA Southeast Regional. The Tornado jumped ahead of four seed Coker College early and had a great performance in the circle from Emma Hughes and Rachel Farmer to take the 2-0 win and advance to the regional final.
  • Tornado outlast Queens for first NCAA Tournament win

    DAHLONEGA, Ga. – The last three outs are always the toughest to get. The King University softball team learned that on Friday afternoon, but the eight-seeded Tornado persevered to earn their first NCAA Tournament victory in program history. The Tornado defeated fifth seed Queens University 4-2 in 10 innings, setting the school record for wins in the process.
  • Early runs for #1 UNG costly for King in NCAA opener

    DAHLONEGA, Ga. – Playing the NCAA Division II Softball Championship for the second time, and first time in six years, the King University Softball team fell behind top-ranked University of North Georgia in the second inning. The Tornado couldn’t get a rally going until the seventh inning, and then it was too late as the Nighthawks took the contest 5-2.

    BRISTOL, Tenn. – For the second time in as many years, the King University softball team has had two players selected All-Southeast Region by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA). Hannah Riddle becomes the first Tornado to earn first team honors and Jenna Burnett garnered second team recognition.
  • King opens NCAA Southeast Region on Thursday

    BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University softball team has earned their second berth into the NCAA Division II Softball Championship, and as the Tornado did six years ago, King will face top-seed and top-ranked University of North Georgia on Thursday afternoon. First pitch in the double elimination tournament is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. King will then take on either fourth seed Coker College or fifth seed Queens University on Friday.

    BURLINGTON, N.C. – Playing their second straight win or go home game, fourth seed King University got their offense going in the first inning against third seed North Greenville University. The Tornado scored five runs in the first inning and eight runs in the third inning to take the game 15-2 and force a winner-take-all game for the Conference Carolinas Softball Championship.

    BURLINGTON, N.C. – For the second time in as many days, fourth seed King University defeated top seed Limestone College, eliminating the Saints from the Conference Carolinas Softball Championship. Seniors Erin Roper and Hannah Riddle led the offensive attack for the Tornado, each hitting home runs in the 5-1 victory.

    BURLINGTON, N.C. – The King University softball team outlasted top seed Limestone College in a winner’s bracket game on Friday night in the Conference Carolinas Softball Championship. Leslie Odom shutout the Saints over nine innings and Conference Carolinas Player of the Year Hannah Riddle gave the fourth seeded Tornado the lead in the ninth inning as King took the contest 4-0.
  • Tornado comeback to walk-off LMC in conference tournament opener

    BURLINGTON, N.C. – The King University softball team opened the Conference Carolinas Softball Championship in exciting fashion, with a walk-off win against fifth seed Lees-McRae College. The fourth seeded Tornado scored three in the 6th to tie the game and Hannah Riddle gave King the 4-3 win with a two-out single in the seventh.

    BRISTOL, Tenn. – Don’t quit until the last out is recorded, the King University softball team didn’t against seventh-ranked Lenoir-Rhyne University and the Tornado came away with a pair of walk-off wins. Katie McCann laced a two-run double in the seventh inning of game one, giving King the 2-1 win while Hannah Riddle drove in the game winning run in the eighth inning of game two.
  • Tornado split Senior Day doubleheader with Emmanuel

    BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University softball team hosted Emmanuel College Saturday afternoon in a Conference Carolinas matchup. Each game of the doubleheader proved to be a pitchers dual as the Tornado fell in game one 1-0, but bounced back to take game two 2-0.

    BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University softball team recorded their second straight Conference Carolinas sweep, taking a pair from the University of Mount Olive on Friday afternoon. The Tornado took game one 6-4 before Kay Brokering hit a go-ahead home run in the sixth inning of game two, giving King the 7-5 victory.  
  • Weekend softball schedule altered

    BRISTOL, Tenn. – Due to impending weather, the King University softball doubleheader against Barton College on Saturday has been moved to Monday, and the twinbill University of Mount Olive has been moved from Sunday to Friday. First pitch on Friday against Mount Olive is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. and first pitch on Monday is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.

    BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University softball team came away with a Conference Carolinas sweep of Converse College on Tuesday afternoon. The Tornado took game one 8-0 in five innings before winning game two 8-0 in five innings as well.

    GAFFNEY, S.C. – The King University softball team dropped a pair of tight contests at Limestone College on Friday afternoon. The Saints scored a pair of runs in the sixth inning to take game one from the Tornado 2-0 before taking the nightcap 4-1.

    HARROGATE, Tenn. – The King University went on the road and took their second straight sweep with a pair of wins at Lincoln Memorial University. The Tornado took game one 1-0 behind a stellar pitching performance from Leslie Odom before the offense led King to a 7-4 game-two victory.
