USC-Aiken / King Doubleheader Rescheduled for Monday
BRISTOL, Tenn. – Due to incoming weather patterns, King University Softball has rescheduled this Saturday's regularly scheduled doubleheader with USC-Aiken for Monday, Feb. 18. Game times will remain at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. and be played at the KU Softball Complex.
King currently stands at 2-4 overall heading into this weekend. The Lady Tornado are scheduled to play two games against Lenoir-Rhyne University on Friday, Feb. 15. Game times are set for 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. at the KU Softball Complex.
The Lady Tornado are paced by sophomore shortstop Christina Melcher (Orlando, Fla.) who leads the team in hits (7), RBI (5), and total bases (11). Junior third baseman Cassie Ringstaff (Richlands, Va.) leads the team in batting average (.375) and has flashed the leather in the hot corner to add to a strong left side of the infield. King currently has a .978 team fielding percentage compared to their opponents 15 errors (.922) through six games. Freshman Morgan White (Suwanee, Ga.) and junior Hannah Light (Coeburn, Va.) has been a mainstay in the circle. The returning All-Conference pitcher is 1-2 in four games while White earned a complete-game, three-hit shutout win in her first collegiate start against Tusculum on Tuesday.
