North Greenville upsets Limestone behind Glazebrook
BURLINGTON, N.C. – In the first game of the Conference Carolinas softball tournament, sixth seeded North Greenville University shutout third seed Limestone College. Rachel Glazebrook tossed two-hit shutout to give the Crusaders the 3-0 victory.
Neither team was able to muster any offense until North Greenville (18-18-1) struck for three runs in the fourth inning. Cassi Carpenter ripped a single to left center that scored Tori Freeman, and Kansas Wofford followed with a single to center that plated Carpenter and Courtney Campbell to put the Crusaders ahead 3-0.
Limestone (22-21) had hits in the second and seventh innings, and had a runner on third base in the Saints had runners on third base in each the third and sixth innings, but could not push any runners across.
Freeman led the Crusaders with two hits while Wofforrd drove in a pair of runs for North Greenville. Jessica Ramsey and Alex Brown both recorded this for Limestone.
