SAVANNAH, Ga. - King College had a trio of players make the 2011 Chatham Orthopedic & Boombah Softball Smash Hit All-Tournament team after the weekend of action came to a close.
Harris posted a .455 batting averae with a double, three RBIs and three runs scored. She also was issued a walk and hit twice to give her an on-base percentage of .571. All five of her hits came on Saturday as she helped King to a pair of wins by going 2-for-3 against host Savannah College of Art & Design (Ga.) and 3-for-3 against Brewton-Parker (Ga.) College with the three RBIs and three runs scored.
Ringstaff provided a hit in the last five games as she finished with a .400 average for the event. In the Lady Tornado's win over Brewton-Parker she was 3-for-4 with three runs scored. Overall she scored four times with a double and two RBIs.
Watts was 2-1 on the mound in the three days. She threw her first shutout of the season against the University of Rio Grande (Ohio) Friday with only four hits allowed. Watts did not allow an earned run against Brewton-Parker Saturday for a win. She was hit four times. Overall she had a 2.10 ERA with three complete games and 13 strikeouts with only two walks in 26 2/3 innings of work.
King will take a 3-9 record to nearby Virginia Intermont College for a 5 p.m. doubleheader Wednesday.
