Cook, Tornado finish 3rd at Conference Carolinas Championship

CONCORD, N.C. – The King University men's cross country team turned in a solid finish at the Conference Carolinas Championship, taking third. Tanner Cook led the way for the Tornado, finishing third.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Cook finished third with a time of 26:37.60 to lead the way for King.
  • Charles Ramos nearly earned all-conference honors, taking 16th with a time of 28:00.85.
  • Not far behind was James Russell Ballowe who finished in 28:20.70, taking 19th place.
  • Morgan Greene came in next at 25th with a time of 29:05.13.
  • Covering the 8k distance in 29:26.04 to take 28th place was Tyler Edwards, and Daniel Kovalchick rounded out the squad with a time of 29:52.08.

FOR THE FOES

  • The University of Mount Olive won the conference championship, placing seven runners in the top 10. The Trojans also had 10 of the top 13 finishers.
  • Lees-McRae College finished second and the Tornado followed at third.
  • Pol Domenech-Ferrer of Mount Olive won the individual title with a time of 26:22.63 while his teammate Adam Craig was next at 26:28.72.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Cook earns all-conference honors for the third straight year, and garners first team recognition for the second time.
