BRISTOL, Tenn. – With the Conference Carolinas Cross Country Championship taking place this afternoon, the conference office announced their academic All-Conference honorees on Friday. The Tornado had two men's runners and one women's runner earn recognition.
On the men's side, both Tanner Cook and Morgan Greene earned honors. Cook earns the award for the second time as he carries a GPA of 3.55 and this marks Greene's first time earning academic all-conference with a 4.0 GPA. Both Cook set personal 8k records at the Queens Royals XC Challenge on October 7. Cook posted a time of 24:58.4. Greene's fastest time of the season came at the Queens Royals XC Challenge where he finished in 26:38.1.
For the women, Maggie Edwards earns the honor for the first time in her career, carrying a 3.75 GPA.
Conference Carolinas academic all-conference teams are comprised of junior and senior student-athletes who have competed in a conference-sponsored sport and maintained a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 or higher on a 4.0 scale in all work completed at their member institution.
