HIGH POINT, N.C. -- Conference Carolinas announced its Runners of the Week award earlier today. King College sophomore Spencer Frantom was named Male Runner of the Week after his performance at the Greater Louisville Classic this past weekend.
Frantom finished 11th out of 285 competitors in the blue race of the Greater Louisville Classic and was three seconds shy of finishing within the top-10 in the race. Frantom was just 16 seconds off the pace from his school record-setting performance two weeks prior at the Clemson Classic and helped lead the Tornado to a 12th out of 33 team finish.
"Spencer's talent is evident and we are really happy he is excelling the way his is at this point in the season," said Head Coach Peter Dalton. "I know he will continue to push himself to do better now that we are approaching the championship half of the season."
The Greater Louisville Classic completes the Tornado regular season schedule before they head to the Conference Carolinas Championships, held in Charlotte, North Carolina. Both teams will compete on Oct. 22 before the regional championships commence in November.
