King places two on USTFCCCA Men's Cross Country All-Academic list

NEW ORLEANS, La. - King College put Naseem Haje and Taylor Dix on the 2010 United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches' Association Division II All-Academic Cross Country squad.

Haje, a sophomore from Hagerstown, Md., and Dix, a freshman from Memphis, Tenn., were among 182 award winners from 89 institutions.

In addition to the academic honor Haje was an NCAA Division II All-Region runner and broke the King program record for 8,000-meter with a time of 24 minutes and 45 seconds.

The duo of Haje and Dix were a part of King's team that narrowly missed a trip to the NCAA Division II National Championship with a fourth-place finish at the Southeast Region Championship.

To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team in Division II, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 or greater through the most-recent semester, completed at least 12 credit hours in the semester of cross country competition, and placed in the top 50 percent at the most recent NCAA National Championships or in the top 30 percent at the NCAA Regional Championships.
