Booher signs three for upcoming year
BRISTOL, Tenn. – King University head men’s volleyball coach Ryan Booher has announced his signing class for the 2014-15 season. The trio of student-athletes, Sean Luhmann, Nick Drooker and Jeff Sprayberry will join the Tornado on campus this fall.

Serowski named third team all-conference
BRISTOL, Tenn. – King University men’s volleyball player Nick Serowski recently completed a stellar first season in the Scarlet and Navy, which earned him recognition from Conference Carolinas. Serowski was named to the All-Conference Carolinas third team when the conference announced the awards on Thursday.

King falls to Erskine on Senior Night
BRISTOL, Tenn. – Needing a win to keep its postseason hopes alive, the King University men’s volleyball team took a dramatic 32-30 first-set victory over Erskine College before the Flying Fleet came back to take the match 3-1 and win the Conference Carolinas regular season championship.

King to collect donations for DeShaun Greer Memorial Fund
BRISTOL, Tenn. – On Wednesday night, March 26, King University’s men’s volleyball team will collect donations in memory of classmate DeShaun Greer who was tragically killed on March 23. During the match against Lees-McRae College, donations will be collected for the DeShaun Greer Memorial Fund. The memorial fund will help with the cost of the funeral services and other expenses.

BRISTOL, Tenn. – Attempting to rebound from a crushing four-set loss to Barton College on Friday night, the King University men’s volleyball team fell to the University of Mount Olive 3-0 in a match separated by the slimmest of margins.

31-29 second-set win propels Barton to win over King
BRISTOL, Tenn. – After seeing Barton College come back from a 1-0 deficit in the match to take a 2-1 lead, the King University men’s volleyball team attempted to mount a comeback of its own in the fourth set. But the Tornado’s effort came up just short as Barton hung on for a 25-23 fourth-set win to clinch a match for the Bulldogs that featured 33 ties and 12 lead changes.

Pfeiffer downs King 3-1 in conference play
BRISTOL, Tenn. – Returning home for the first time in 46 days, the King University men’s volleyball team faced Pfeiffer University in a conference match on Wednesday. The visiting Falcons were able to spoil King’s homecoming, however, taking the match in four sets to drop the Tornado to seventh place in the conference standings.

BRISTOL, Tenn. – As a part of its coaching requirements, the NCAA mandates that all coaches be trained in CPR and administering first aid. Those that undergo the training hope that they will not have to use it, but can be assured that they will have the skills necessary to help those in need if they encounter someone requiring urgent care.

King raises money for Oklahoma City Tornado Relief fund
BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University men’s volleyball team kicked off their season last Saturday with their annual alumni match. They used the opportunity to raise money for the Oklahoma City Tornado Relief fund, and they outdid their goal by raising $700.

Alumni match and fundraiser slated for Saturday
BRISTOL, Tenn. – With the men’s volleyball season just around the corner, the King University men’s volleyball team will be having their annual alumni match on Saturday, January 11 at the Student Center Complex. The team is also using the event as a fundraiser for the Oklahoma City tornadoes that took place last spring as they will be taking donations to send to the relief fund.

Tornado volunteer at Bristol YWCA
BRISTOL, Tenn. – Since the beginning of school this fall, the King University men’s volleyball team has been volunteering at the Bristol, Tenn., YWCA. Two nights a week, members of the team have taught volleyball to young girls at the YWCA Youth Volleyball League.
