King posted 3-0 win at Eastern Mennonite

HARRISONBURG, Va. - The King College men's volleyball team won for a third straight match with another 3-0 score when the Tornado defeated Eastern Mennonite (Va.) University Thursday in a road contest.

The win sent King to 8-5 on the season and 2-2 in road matches. This was the second meeting between the two of 2011 as King posted a 3-0 win on March 4 in Banner Elk, N.C. The Tornado also owns a three-match winning streak over Eastern Mennonite.

King used scores of 25-21, 25-15 and 25-16 for the victory.

James Friddle (Cartersville, Ga.) led a balanced King attack with nine kills while Eric Glenn (Portsmouth, Va.) added eight more. Joel Salva (Lake Mary, Fla.) posted his seventh double-double of 2011 with 36 assists and 11 digs. Friddle almost had a double-double of his own thanks to a season-best 10 digs.

The Tornado returns home Saturday for a 7 p.m. contest against NCAA Division I foe Ball State (Ind.). Donations will be collected at the match to purchase toys for the Niswonger Children's Hospital.
