Tornado Volleyball racks up NCAA stat rankings

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - King College kept six Top-50 individual NCAA Men's Volleyball stat rankings, as announced by the national office. The Tornado also collected four Top-50 team rankings.

Joel Salva (Lake Mary, Fla.) and his 0.47 aces per set was No. 4 nationally and tops in Conference Carolinas. He used a 2.17 digs per set average to fall in at No. 10 in the nation and second the conference. His 8.57 assists per set was No. 29 in the country and third in the league.

Morris Cephas (Richmond, Va.) moved to the top of the conference standings in digs per set with 2.23 which was No. 8 nationally.

Eric Glenn (Richmond, Va.) was atop the league's blocks per set ranking with 1.19 which was good for No. 12 in the nation.

James Friddle (Cartersville, Ga.) and a .303 hitting percentage was at No. 34 nationally and third in Conference Carolinas.

King occupied the No. 12 spot in both digs per set and blocks per set nationally which also had the team second among conference teams. The Tornado also served up the No. 16 ranking in aces per set. The team was tied for No. 19 with a winning percentage of .556.

King, at 5-4 overall and 2-2 in the league, returns to action Saturday at conference foe Limestone (S.C.) College for a 1 p.m. match. In the first meeting of the season King emerged a 3-2 winner on Jan. 27.
