Tornado track & field programs earn USTFCCCA All-Academic honors
BRISTOL, Tenn. – Even throughout the summer, accolades keep coming in for the King University men’s and women’s track & field programs. Both programs earned USFCCCA All-Academic honors as well as three student-athletes. Spencer Frantom, Hannah Witt and Maegan Henry all garnered USTFCCCA All-Academic honors.

Dalton returns to lead Tornado cross country teams
BRISTOL, Tenn. – Director of Athletics David Hicks announced earlier today that Peter Dalton will return to King University as the head coach of the men’s and women’s cross country teams, six weeks after departing King for a position on the coaching staff at Lipscomb University.

Frantom to run in NCAA Track & Field Championships
BRISTOL, Tenn. – On Thursday, King University’s Spencer Frantom will become the first Tornado student-athlete to participate in the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships. The junior will run the 10,000 meter run in Pueblo, Colo.

King placed 11 student-athletes on the USTFCCCA All-Region team
BRISTOL, Tenn. – The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced their All-Region track and field teams on Friday, and 11 King University student-athletes were recognized. Six members of the men's track and field team were named All-Southeast Region while five women earned the same distinction.

Dalton takes position at Lipscomb
BRISTOL, Tenn. – King University head cross country and track and field coach Peter Dalton has accepted the position of Assistant Cross Country Coach and Track at Lipscomb University. Peter will remain at King through May 31 and will coach our student-athletes at the NCAA Championships, and will assist the current staff as they wrap up recruiting efforts for fall 2013.

Frantom breaks 10,000 meter school record
HILLSDALE, Mich. – At the Gina Relays, hosted by Hillsdale College, Spencer Frantom made a little King University history. The junior broke the school record in the 10,000 meter run with a time of 30:11.32.

King takes home five titles at conference meet, place fourth
BANNER ELK, N.C. – The King University men’s track and field team came into the Conference Carolinas outdoor meet with confidence after winning the indoor championship earlier this spring. However, the Tornado finished fourth in the outdoor meet on Saturday with 116 points.

School, personal records fall at Liberty Invite
LYNCHBURG, Va. - The King University men's track and field team turned a solid performance in their final tune-up before the Conference Carolinas Outdoor Championships. At the Liberty Collegiate Invitational, the 4x400 relay team registered their fastest time in three years, while Brent Swiney set a school record, and Eric Jones recorded the second longest long jump in Conference Carolinas this season.

Noe, Witt break school records at Raleigh Relays
RALEIGH, N.C. – The men's and women's track and field teams competed at the Raleigh Relays on Friday, where team scores were not kept. Jordan Noe and Hannah Witt both set school records set personal records at the event while Spencer Frantom set a personal record.

Noe wins 5,000 meter run at Beynon Sports Catamount Classic
CULLOWHEE, N.C. – The King University men’s track and field team turned in a very successful Saturday at the Beynon Sports Catamount Classic. Many personal records fell, and Jordan Noe won the 5,000 meter run while the team finished sixth of 16 teams with 40 points.

CULLOHWEE, N.C. – The first day of competition at the Beynon Sports Catamount Classic, hosted by Western Carolina University, saw the King University track and field team score three points. Eric Jones and Mark Baker both set personal bests during the first day.
