BRISTOL, Tenn. – After becoming the first Tornado runner to qualify to run at the Junior National Championship, Jordan Noe was tabbed the Conference Carolinas Track Athlete of the week in the second week of the 2012 season. The announcement was made by the conference office on Wednesday afternoon.
The freshman from Morristown, Tenn., qualified to compete at the U.S. Junior National Championship with a time of 6:08.37 in the 2,000-meter steeplechase, shattering the qualifying mark of 6:25 by 17 seconds and his previous best by 20 seconds. He is the first team member to accomplish the feat in school history, while setting a new personal record and school record in the event. In the event at the 49er Charlotte Classic, Noe finished second overall out of ten runners.
