King falls at Mount Olive

MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. – The King University men's tennis team traveled to take on the University of Mount Olive in a Conference Carolinas dual on Saturday. The Tornado took a doubles match, but couldn't follow it with singles wins as the Trojans took the dual 7-2.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The tandem of Charles Jabaley and Sebastian Lieflaender topped Pablo Safont and Juan Arbelaez 8-4 at No. 3 doubles to get King on the board.
  • However, the Trojans answered with four straight singles wins to clinch the dual.
  • At No. 6 singles, Arturo Alfaro came away with a 7-5, 6-4 victory over Sherzod Akramov.
  • Alejandro Feliciano nearly came up with a win at the top flight, winning the first set against Armando Ferreira 7-5. Ferreira then took the second set 6-4 and the third set went to a tiebreak.
  • However, Ferreira took that 7-6 (8-6) to give Mount Olive the 7-2 victory.
