BRISTOL, Tenn. – For the second straight year, King University men's tennis player Moritz Poswiat garnered College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District honors. Poswiat becomes the third Tornado to earn CoSIDA Academic All-District twice in his career, and the first men's tennis player.
The native of Wuppertal, Germany graduated as a double major in accounting and finance, carrying a 3.99 GPA. Earlier this week, Poswiat was selected Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) /Arthur Ashe Leadership and Sportsmanship Award. He has been selected academic All-Conference Carolinas and garnered Conference Carolinas Scholar Athlete of the Year for men's tennis a season ago.
In his career at King, Poswiat was selected All-Conference Carolinas three times, including being named to the all-conference doubles team this year. During his senior campaign, the senior went 15-9 in doubles play while going 10-10 in singles play. In his career, Poswiat owns a 59-31 record in singles play and 52-40 mark in doubles competition.
Poswiat is now eligible for CoSIDA Academic All-America honors, and the at-large team will be announced on June 7.
The CoSIDA Academic All-America At-Large program is eligible for the following sports, women's beach volleyball, women's bowling, women's crew/rowing, men's and women's fencing, women's field hockey, men's and women's golf, men's and women's gymnastics, men's and women's ice hockey, men's and women's lacrosse, men's and women's rifle, men's and women's skiing, men's and women's swimming, men's and women's tennis, men's volleyball, men's and women's water polo and men's wrestling.
