Tornado compete at ITA Regional

SUMTER, S.C. – King University had a few men's and women's players compete at the ITA Regional over the weekend. Lennard Neumann led the Tornado men in the event in Sumter, S.C. while a trio of women made the third round of the consolation bracket.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Competing in the men's B draw, Neumann earned a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Fabian Paier of Tusculum College in the first round.
  • However, he fell to Arthur Andrade of Erskine College 6-3, 6-4 in the second round.
  • In doubles play, Neumann was teamed with Moritz Poswiat and the duo defeated Mattia Campus and Jannik Kumbier of Georgia College 8-3 in the first round.
  • They then fell to Luca T Cerin and Ignacio Hernandez of Armstrong State University 8-3 in the second round.
  • On the women's side, Katya Cerny, Marianne Hull and Haley Maloney all reached the third round of the consolation bracket before falling.

  • King is scheduled to be in action again on October 15 against Mars Hill University.
