FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. – In their final dual match of the fall, the King University men's tennis took their first victory in three tries. The Tornado took the clean 9-0 sweep at Emmanuel College on Saturday afternoon.
King (1-2) set the tone in doubles play as Rodrigo Avila and Leo Brigato won their No. 1 doubles match 8-3 over Pasha Zinchenko and Joaquin Marshall. At No. 2 doubles, Moritz Poswiat and Seth Carelli topped Austin Spivey and Cody Norris 8-2. King took the final double match be default since the Lions only had four players.
In singles play, Pablo Vidal came back after dropping the first set 6-3 to take the final two frames 6-2, 6-1 at No. 1 singles. At the No. 2 flight, Luis Delgado defeated Marshall 6-2, 6-2 while Poswiat took a 6-3, 6-2 win over Spivey at No. 3 singles. William Boyce took King's final win, 6-1, 6-2 over Cody Norris at No. 4 singles as the Tornado took the road victory.
This marks the last fall event for the Tornado, they will be in action again on February 18 when they host Tusculum College at the King Tennis Complex.
