King's season ends with loss to Limestone
SUMTER, S.C. – The seventh seeded King University men's tennis team took on second seed Limestone College in the first round of the Conference Carolinas Tournament on Saturday. Limestone came out and took control of the match early, en route to the 5-0 win.
The Saints (16-7) took all three doubles matches, starting with an 8-6 win at No. 1 doubles. Their No. 3 doubles team took an 8-5 win while the No. 2 doubles match turned into the best match of the day. Limestone's Lucas Guinski and Antoine Le Dore defeated Patrick Jones and Leo Brigato 9-8 to take a 3-0 lead going to singles.
Limestone continued their hot play in singles, winning 6-2, 6-3 at No. 5 singles and 6-2, 6-1 at No. 6 singles to sweep the match 5-0.
The Tornado end the season with an 11-10 and record, and Jones ends his King career with a singles record of 10-7 and doubles record of 8-9 in his final season.
