Tornado set six PRs, fall to Lions 97-93

FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. – The King University men's swimming & diving team traveled to take on Emmanuel College on Saturday afternoon. The Tornado took a narrow 97-93 defeat to the Lions, but set six new personal records in the process.

Christian Knobloch narrowly set a new personal best with a time of 1:54.00 in the 200 yard freestyle. His previous career best was 1:54.73. Bryan Stroinski set a pair of personal records, in 50 yard freestyle and the 100 yard breaststroke. He swam 23.67 in the 50 yard free, and 1:05.82 in the 100 yard breaststroke.

Also setting personal records were Nicholas Piumelli, Jacob Morales and Tyler McBee. Piumelli set his personal record with a 100 yard breaststroke time of 1:02.48 to win the event. Morales swam 59.58 in the 100 yard butterfly, marking his first sub-one minute time while McBee bested his previous fastest 500 yard freestyle time by 10 seconds. McBee finished the event in 5:43.81.

King will be in action again on November 1-2 when they travel to the Sewanee Invitational.
