King takes 98-98 tie at Milligan
MILLIGAN COLLEGE, Tenn. – The King University men's swimming & diving team traveled the short distanced down the road to take on local rival Milligan College on Thursday night. The Tornado turned in a solid performance, coming away with a 98-98 tie with the Buffaloes.
Alek Nochowicz got the meet off to a good start as he won the 800 meter freestyle with a time of 10:01.64 while Quenton Lyons came in second with a time of 10:07.88. Christian Knobloch registered a first place performance in the 200 meter freestyle with a time of 2:08. 93.
Knobloch also finished first in the 100 meter freestyle in a time of 57.84, and Reynold Thibideau swam the 200 meter individual medley in a first place time of 2:23.66.
King also took home second place finishes in the 50 meter freestyle, 400 meter freestyle and the 100 meter backstroke. Taylor Horton finished the 50 meter freestyle in 26.55 seconds while Lyons swam the 400 meter freestyle in 4:49.13. Nicholas Piumelli finished the 100 meter backstroke race in 1:10.96.
King will be in action again on Saturday when they travel to Franklin Springs, Ga., to take on Emmanuel College. The meet is scheduled to start at 1:00 p.m.
