Calderon tabbed TSWA Player of the Week

BRISTOL, Tenn. – Following is first career multi-goal game, King University men's soccer player Luis Calderon was selected Tennessee Sports Writers Association Player of the Week. The junior posted two tallies in King's Conference Carolinas tilt against the University of Mount Olive.

The Guatemala City, Guatemala, native scored twice against the University of Mount Olive, putting King ahead on a rebound in the 31st minute. The junior midfielder gave the Tornado the lead again in the 75th minute, just 28 seconds after Mount Olive equalized, and also with King a man down, ripping his shot from the top of the box into the upper right 90.

Calderon currently ranks second on the team and 13th in Conference Carolinas with four goals on the season. His four assists also lead the Tornado and rank eighth in the league.

King will be in action again on Wednesday night when they travel to take on 13th-ranked Limestone College. Kickoff from Gaffney, S.C. is slated for 7:30 p.m.
