BRISTOL, Tenn. – In his second year at the helm of the King University men's soccer program, John Miglarese has announced his 2014 schedule. The schedule includes a season opening tournament in Atlanta, Ga., and later in the year, a road match up with last year's national runner-up.
Prior to the regular season, the King will host a pair of exhibitions, first facing NCAA Division I opponent VMI on August 25 at 6:00 p.m., and then taking on Lincoln Memorial University on August 30 at 6:00 p.m.
The Tornado will open the 2014 season at the Clayton State Lock Shop Shootout where they will face hosts Clayton State University on September 5 at 6:00 p.m. King will turn around and take on USC Aiken the following day at 4:00 p.m. In the fifth straight road game to open the season, the Tornado will take on last year's NCAA Division II Men's Soccer runner-up, Carson-Newman University on September 17 in Jefferson City, Tenn.
King's home opener is slated for September 20 when the Tornado play host to Palm Beach Atlantic University at 3:00 p.m., which kicks off a four game home stand. The Tornado will take on the University of North Georgia before taking on Conference Carolinas foes Belmont Abbey College and North Greenville University. King opens conference play against one of the league's new members, Emmanuel College on September 13 in Franklin Springs, Ga.
The Tornado close the season with a home game against Barton College on November 1 at 3:00 p.m. The Conference Carolinas Tournament is scheduled to start with the quarterfinals on November 4 and the semifinals on November 7. The tournament championship is slated for November 9. The highest seed from the regular season standings will host each round of the tournament.
