Flagler wasted no time to get their first of four scores on the board, posting a goal just 18 seconds into the opening half. Saint forward Mack Hough not only scored the game's first goal but also the next two for Flagler en route to a hat trick.
The Saints took a 2-0 lead into the half having outshot King by only three shots but legged out nine more shots in the second half, two going in for scores. Hough scored his third inside the 58th minute from 40 yards out to give Flagler a 3-0 advantage before Eammon Murphy added his third point of the day with a goal of his own in the 87th minute. Murphy also assisted on Hough's final two scores.
Senior goalkeeper Patrick Milfred (Dallas, Texas) stopped six of the ten shots on goal, making four of those in the second half of his season debut.
The Tornado (0-1-0) now prepare for a second road game against Lincoln Memorial (Harrogate, Tenn.) on Sept. 7 for a non-conference match prior to their Conference Carolina debut versus Limestone on Sept. 10 at Parks Field.
