Ruff finishes 3rd to lead Tornado at King Invite

BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University men's golf team showed improvement from the first round of the King University Invitational, shooting 283 in the second round to finish four with a tournament total of 576. Miles Ruff led the Tornado playing for King's second team, finishing third overall.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Leading the King B team was Ruff who following his 71 in the first round with a score of one under 69 in the second round. He finish third with a tournament total of even par 140.
  • Mathias Bunaes followed Ruff with a score of 145, carding a two under 68 in the second round.
  • Coming in next was Thomas Jackson and Parker Sammons finishing with scores of 152 and 155, respectively. Jackson shot 74 in the second round while Sammons finished with a 76.
  • Noah Harkness rounded out the squad, shooting 76 in the final round to finish with a total of 158.
  • The King B team finished with a score of 592, taking seventh place.
  • Kesley March led the King A team finishing 11th with a tournament total of 142. He finished the tournament with a round of one under 69 on Tuesday.
  • Arthitayapong Sripatrprasite and Robert Wilkinson came in next, finishing the tournament with stroke totals of 145. Sripatrprasite shot 71 in the final round while Wilkinson carded an even par 70 on Tuesday.
  • Matthew Dalrymple carded a 75 in the final round to finish with a tournament total of 146.
  • Rounding out the squad was Wataru Koguchi who carded a 73 in the final round to finish with a total of 150.

FOR THE FOES

  • Pfeiffer University won the tournament, shooting 554 while Erskine College was second at 567.
  • North Greenville University was third at 571 while the Tornado finished fourth at 576.
  • Nathan Bull of Pfeiffer was the individual medalist, shooting five under 135 while Jacob Smith of UVa-Wise finished set at 139.

  • King will be in action again on October 17-18 at the TVA Credit Union Classic at Turtle Point Yacht and Country Club in Florence, Ala.
