Tornado in sixth after opening round of conference championships

BROWNS SUMMIT, N.C. – The King University men's golf opened play at the Conference Carolinas Championships, and posted a first round score of 308. The Tornado are in sixth place, and were led by Leennawat Numpituckchaikul who is in 10th with two rounds remaining.

The sophomore carded a score of two-over, 74 in the first round, and is in 10th place, only four strokes back with two rounds to play. Ross Maietta and Mathias Bunaes weren't far behind as they both posted first round scores of 76.

Taylor Gouge and Cody Boyer rounded out the Tornado squad with opening round scores of 82 and 84.

The Tornado are in sixth place after their first round score of 308 while Erskine College leads after shooting 289 in the first round. Limestone College is in second with a stroke total of 292.

The second round will be played on Monday at Bryan Park Champions Course in Browns Summit, N.C.
