Tornado in eighth after Conference Carolinas first round

Graham, N.C. – After the first round of the Conference Carolinas Tournament, the King University men's golf team is in eighth place. The Tornado carded a 308 in the first round, and were led by Ross Maietta and Leennawat Numpituckchaikul and John Scott.

That trio all carded 76's to lead the Tornado in the first round, and all are tied for 22nd. Taylor Gouge followed with an 80, and Richard Powell rounded out the squad with an 85.

Barton College shot 289 to hold the first round lead by one stroke over Belmont Abbey College.

The second round will take place tomorrow, and the tournament will conclude on Monday at The Challenge Golf Club.
