Maegan Henry joined the King University track & field coaching staff following one of the most accomplished athletic careers in program history.
A standout thrower for the Tornado, Henry established herself as one of the premier field athletes in Conference Carolinas and the Southeast Region during her four-year career. Her impact on the program continues to be felt as she remains the holder of five school records, including indoor records in the shot put and weight throw and outdoor records in the shot put, discus, and hammer throw.
Henry earned numerous accolades throughout her collegiate career, highlighted by 17 All-Conference Carolinas selections and 12 USTFCCCA All-Southeast Region honors. She was recognized as the Conference Carolinas Most Valuable Field Performer five times and earned Conference Carolinas Freshman of the Year honors in 2012 after an outstanding debut season.
In 2014, Henry enjoyed one of the most successful years of her career both athletically and academically. She was named the Conference Carolinas Scholar-Athlete of the Year during both the indoor and outdoor track & field seasons while also earning CoSIDA Academic All-District honors. Additionally, she was a two-time Academic All-Conference Carolinas selection, demonstrating excellence in the classroom as well as in competition.
Henry's accomplishments helped establish a standard of success for the King track & field program and cemented her place among the most decorated student-athletes in school history. Her experience as a record-setting athlete and accomplished scholar provides valuable insight and leadership to the next generation of Tornado student-athletes.
Throughout her career, Henry's dedication, consistency, and competitive success made her one of the most recognizable figures in King track & field history, and she continues to contribute to the program's growth and development as a member of the coaching staff.
