Prior to King:
  • A native of Ellicott City, Maryland, Kent attended Mount Hebron High School before joining the Tornado.
  • Kent earned First Team All-Howard County honors during his high school career.
  • As a senior, he led the county in scoring average and broke school records for best scoring average and most points scored in a match.
  • He also qualified for the Maryland Capital Cup.
