Finished in 17th place with a 10k time of 33:24.97 at the NCAA Southeast Regionals.

2013: Set an 8K personal record at the Royal Cross Country Challenge on October 11 with a time of 26:46.6... Finished in 21st position at the Conference Carolinas Cross Country Championship on October 25 in 27:00.81... Ran to a 228th-place finish at the NCAA Championship on November 23 with a time of 34:47.9 on the 10K course.

2012: Helped the Tornado qualify for the NCAA Division II National Championship for the first time in school history, where King placed 27th... Turned in his best finish of the season at the Pre-Conference Meet on October 5 with a 5k tiem of 17:02.66 to place sixth... Finished 16th at the Conference Carolinas Championships on October 19 with an 8k time of 27:07.42... Posted a 10k time of 33:13.7 at the NCAA Southeast Regional Championship where he finished 32nd... Bettered that 10k mark with a time of 32:45.1 at the NCAA Division II National Championship on November 17.
